Contraction of the Brampton Capitals

The Ownership of the Brampton Capitals regretfully announces today that it is decommissioning the long standing/storied Junior A hockey franchise.  This decision was not taken lightly and was very difficult to make.  The Brampton Capitals wish to extend thanks to all of the past and present players, dedicated coaches and staff, generous volunteers and sponsors, the City of Brampton and especially the fans throughout the years.  In particular we wish to express sincere gratitude to Jimmy Doig, the "Voice of the Capitals" and Edna Pearce, the Brampton Capitals' most dedicated and longstanding fan.

To the Players on our Current Roster;

-Your Player Rights remain with the Brampton Capitals until December 1, 2012 at which time, if you have not yet been released, you will become a   free agent.

-On April 15, 2012, we will be allowed to begin the process of negotiating spots on other teams.

-Brampton Capitals' Players WILL NOT require a Permission to Skate in order to tryout for other teams; you are free to try-out anywhere.

-If a particular team wishes to offer you a spot, THEIR GM MUST CONTACT TONY FILICE.  All negotiations will take place between General Managers

     Please trust that we will do our very best to place our players on other teams.  We welcome our players to contact Tony to advise of their wishes so that he may attempt to satisfy everyone as best we can.

     The Ownership of the Brampton Capitals extends to each and every one of their players the most success possible in their future hockey as well as their lives outside the rink.
